I usually add to my smoothie drinks and found no gritty mouth feel, no unusual taste- I also add to my delicious gluten sugar free banana pancake recipe! I decided to add the caramel flavor to my golden milk (its a product I get from another company, no sugar, all plant based). The golden milk is delicious on it's own but when I added Great Lakes Wellness caramel collagen, it was a decadent dessert! I went back and re-read all the ingredients because I was convinced it had brown sugar in it! Of course there was no sugar in either products. I drink this every day with my golden milk, usually late in the afternoon for a boost of energy.
