Stir up a little Halloween magic with these Witch’s Brew Gummies. Made with maple syrup, a pinch of blue spirulina, and Great Lakes Wellness Beef Gelatin, they get their bold purple color without any artificial dyes and need just four simple ingredients.
Makes about 4 gummies, depending on the size of the dish.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cold water
- ⅓ cup pure maple syrup
- ¼ cup (48 g) Great Lakes Wellness Beef Gelatin
- ¼ teaspoon blue spirulina powder
Directions
- Line a small baking dish with parchment paper.
- Pour the cold water into a medium saucepan. Sprinkle the Beef Gelatin evenly over the surface and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
- Add the maple syrup and blue spirulina. Use an electric whisk or handheld milk frother to blend until the spirulina is fully dispersed.
- Heat over medium heat for 3–5 minutes, whisking gently, until the gelatin has dissolved completely and the mixture is very hot. Do not allow it to simmer or boil.
- Remove from the heat and gently skim off any foam from the surface.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
- Refrigerate for 4–5 hours, or until completely firm.
- Lift the gummies out using the parchment and cut them into squares. Enjoy chilled.
Store leftover gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
