Try our healthy take on an old classic. Shortcake is a perfect way to showcase and enjoy the best berries of the season and it’s the official dessert of summer. We’ve super-powered our shortcake with collagen peptides, honey, wheat flour, and strawberries!

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/3 cup oil (canola or coconut oil)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- ½ cup Great Lakes Collagen Peptides
- 4-5 cups of fresh, sliced strawberries
Directions
- Mix together flour and baking powder.
- Combine the milk and collagen peptides and stir well.
- Add in eggs, honey, oil, vanilla and milk. Stir well (or mix well with hand mixer).
- Pour batter into a baking dish coated with cooking spray.
- Bake at 350° for 18-22 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely. Top with fresh strawberries and whipped cream (see recipe on our website).
