Blood Orange Hot Chocolate

An unexpectedly delicious combination of bright bold citrus flavor combined with warm, rich, dark chocolate. This comforting drink can be prepared in minutes and is a great source of both collagen and Vitamin C.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Great Lakes Collagen Peptides
  • 2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 Tablespoons cane sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon blood orange juice
  • 1 Tablespoon blood orange zest
  • Pinch of Himalayan Pink Sea Salt

Directions

  • Zest blood orange into small bowl with the sugar. Rub the zest into the sugar to release essential oils.* 
  • Melt dark chocolate and coconut milk together in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring frequently to avoid burning it. 
  • Once melted, reduce to low heat and add remaining ingredients and whisk to combine. 
  • Simmer ingredients on low for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. 
  • Add Dragon Fruit Marshmallows* (see our recipe page) 
  • If you own a foaming wand, foam before serving.* 
  • Remove from heat and enjoy!
