Chocolate Hummus

Chocolate Hummus
A nutritious, creamy dip that is easily combined with your favorite fruits, veggies, or crackers. It’s healthy and easy to make. Try it out today!

Ingredients

  • 2 scoops Great Lakes Gelatin Collagen Endurance Plus
  • 1 1/2 cup chickpeas (soaked overnight) OR 1 can of chickpeas, drained and well rinsed
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or agave syrup, to taste
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (I used Dark Chocolate powder)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Directions

  • Drain chickpeas into a measuring cup, set aside the liquid.
  • In a food processor, add the collagen endurance plus, chickpeas, maple or agave syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla, salt, and 2 tablespoons water from the chickpeas.
  • Puree for 30 seconds, then scrape down the bowl. If necessary, add a bit more syrup to taste.
  • Add additional 1 to 2 tablespoons water and puree again. It will have a creamy consistency.
  • Store in the refrigerator for 7 to 10 days.
  • Serve with graham crackers, apple slices, grapes, bananas and strawberries.
