Chocolate Hummus

A nutritious, creamy dip that is easily combined with your favorite fruits, veggies, or crackers. It’s healthy and easy to make. Making it the perfect dish for kids, family or friends alike. By @life.and.liz

Ingredients

  • 2 scoops Great Lakes Collagen Endurance Plus
  •  1 1/2 cup chickpeas (soaked overnight) OR 1 can of chickpeas, drained and well rinsed
  •  1/4 cup maple syrup or agave syrup, to taste
  •  1/2 cup cocoa powder (I used Dark Chocolate powder) 
  •  1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •  1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Directions

  • Drain chickpeas into a measuring cup, set aside the liquid. 
  • In a food processor, add the collagen endurance plus, chickpeas, maple or agave syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla, salt, and 2 tablespoons water from the chickpeas. 
  • Puree for 30 seconds, then scrape down the bowl. If necessary, add a bit more syrup to taste. 
  • Add additional 1 to 2 tablespoons water and puree again. It will have a creamy consistency. 
  • Store in the refrigerator for 7 to 10 days. 
  • Serve with graham crackers, apple slices, grapes, bananas and strawberries.
